ApexBar Privacy Policy

1. Overview

ApexBar ("the App") provides customizable shipping progress bars and promotional announcement banners to Shopify merchants ("Merchants") and their store visitors ("End Users"). This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.

2. Information We Collect

When you install and use ApexBar, we collect specific types of information to provide and optimize our service:

• Merchant Account Information: Shopify store domain, email address, shop currency, primary location, and app configuration settings.
• Customer & Session Data: To display dynamic shipping progress bars, the App accesses session cart values, cart currency, and device country code (via Shopify standard cart APIs and GeoIP headers).
• Technical Data: Browser type, operating system, and anonymous usage analytics related to widget interactions.

Note: ApexBar does NOT store customer names, physical addresses, credit card numbers, or payment credentials.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information exclusively for the following operational purposes:

• To render customized shipping bars, countdown timers, and promotional banners on your storefront.
• To perform real-time cart value and local currency calculations.
• To apply geolocation targeting (e.g., displaying specific bars to customers in designated countries).
• To provide technical support, app improvements, and billing verification via Shopify.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to third parties. Data is shared only under the following strictly necessary conditions:

• Shopify API: Interfacing with Shopify to retrieve cart contents and manage app authentication.
• Hosting & Infrastructure Services: Secure serverless deployment providers used solely to serve widget assets efficiently.
• Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or governmental regulations.

5. Data Retention & Security

We retain Merchant configuration data as long as ApexBar is installed on your store. Upon uninstalling the App, all associated store configuration data and access tokens are permanently deleted or anonymized within 30 days in compliance with Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks.

6. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA Compliance)

If you are a merchant or visitor located in the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, or California, you have the right to access, rectify, or request deletion of any personal data processed by ApexBar. Since we do not persistently store End User personally identifiable information (PII), data requests are primarily handled directly via Shopify's privacy tools.
